Mark La is a senior Clinical Data Management leader and consultant with more than 25 years of experience helping biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies build scalable, inspection-ready data management operations. He partners with organizations across all phases of clinical development to strengthen Clinical Data Management strategy, improve operational efficiency, and deliver high-quality clinical trial data that supports confident decision-making and regulatory success.

Over the course of his career, Mark has led and supported Clinical Data Management initiatives for both emerging biotech companies and global pharmaceutical organizations, including Mirum Pharmaceuticals, Kezar Life Sciences, Nektar Therapeutics, AbbVie, and Gilead Sciences. His experience spans oncology, immunology, hepatology, cardiology, rheumatology, rare diseases, and other complex therapeutic areas.

Mark specializes in helping sponsors build and scale Clinical Data Management functions while remaining closely engaged in the operational execution required to support successful clinical trials. His expertise includes Clinical Data Management strategy, vendor governance, study start-up, eCRF design, database development, CRO oversight, risk-based quality management, external data integrations, and submission readiness.

Unlike many advisory-only consultants, Mark brings both executive leadership experience and deep operational involvement across all stages of clinical trial data management. He has led departmental transformation initiatives, standardized processes and governance models, managed outsourcing partnerships and budgets, and collaborated cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, Drug Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and external partners to ensure high-quality and compliant clinical data delivery.
